We strongly recommend you change to our 81°C thermostats when doing performance modifications to your engine. Any engine that is going to produce more power will also generate more heat, meaning the cooling system will have to work harder. Give your cooling system the helping hand by changing the factory set thermostat of 91°C, to our 81°C cooler thermostats. With the original thersmostat set to 91°C, water is not permitted to fully circulate through the block until engine temperature exceeds 91°C. For most performance applications this is way too late. By the time water does start circulating through the block and engine temperature drops down to 91°C the thermsostat starts to close again, meaning the engine will always stay above 90°C. By fitting our cooler thermostats engine coolant is permitted to start flowing through the block at a lower temperature, meaning the engine will operate cooler and produce more power, as we all know cooler engine = more power. We strongly recommend purchasing a cooler thermostat especially with our boost upgrade kit as this also assists in keeping intake charge cooler, and thereby producing more power. All our thermostats come with complimentary gasket, just in case the original one doesn't come off in one piece.
